OVERVIEW

The CrystalLink USB3.1 Active Optical Cable connects your host and devices together with a flexible and rugged cable with built-in fiber optics and electronics. The cable comes in various lengths up to 100m.

The cable is available in three models:

  • USB 3.1/2.0/1.1 hybrid cable that supplies power in lengths to 50m
  • USB 3.1 hybrid cable that supplies power in lengths to 50m
  • USB 3.1 pure optical cable supplying no power in lengths to 100m

The USB3.1/2.0/1.1 hybrid cable has a built in USB3.1 to USB3.1/USB2.0 converter. You can connect it directly to a device or connect it to a standard hub. This model is available in lengths of 10m, 20m, 30m, and 50m and has a USB 3.1 type A male connector at the host end and a USB 3.1 type A receptacle with locking holes at the device end. Simply insert this in-line with your existing equipment for a simple installation.

The USB3.1 hybrid cable is meant to plug directly into a remote device such as a camera. Since the cable supplies power, it makes for an efficient connection at the remote end. This model is available in lengths of 10m, 20m, 30m, and 50m and has a USB 3.1 type A male connector at the host end and a USB 3.1 micro B male with locking screws at the device end. Simply plug the cable into the host transmitter device, and connect the remote end to a USB3.1 device.

The USB3.1 pure optical model transmits no power, supports USB3.1 only, and is complemented by an optional hub which will break out the USB3.1 into USB3.1 and USB2.0. The cable plugs directly into the hub. You can then plug your USB3.1 and USB2.0 peripherals into the hub. This model is available in lengths of 10m, 20m, 30m 50m, 70m, and 100ma and has USB 3.1 type A male connectors at each end. Since this cable is purely optical it is great for industrial or medical applications which may be concerned with intrinsic safety or patient leakage.

The CrystalLink USB3.1 Active Optical Cable has a low smoke zero-halogen jacket which permits it to be used in plenums, walls, and ceilings. Running in conduit is not required. It is installed and connects just like a copper cable, except it must be installed in the correct direction. It's 4mm jacket size is small and has a low bend radius. It is rugged with a crush resistance of 1000N short term and 500N long term. The USB3.1 optical cable provides transparent USB3.1 extension, and works with all major operating systems. This product may also be paired with Rose Active Optical Video cables, either HDMI or DisplayPort, to make a complete KVM extension.
